    Clay Kneading​The clay is kneaded to remove air bubbles and impurities, ensuring a dense and elastic texture, which facilitates throwing and shaping.

    Throwing​The clay is placed on a rotating wheel and shaped into various forms.

    Trimming
    ​Once partially dried, the clay body is refined using a carving tool to achieve the desired shape and thickness.

  • 04.
    Kiln Loading
    ​Before firing, the unfired ceramic pieces are meticulously arranged inside the kiln.

  • 05.
    Kiln Ritual
    ​The area in front of the kiln is swept clean, and offerings are made to the Kiln God and the Earth Deity as a traditional ritual.

  • 06.
    Firing Process

    Day 1: Low-temperature smoking for 24 hours.​

    Day 2: Moisture evaporation + initial shaping at 662–1652°F (16 hours).​

    Day 3: Continuous high-temperature firing with reduction at 1652–2192°F (24 hours).​

    Day 4: Further reduction, ash glazing, and intense firing at 2192–2552°F (36 hours).

  • 07.
    Cooling​
    The kiln is sealed and left to cool for 5 days (120 hours).

  • 08.
    Unloading​
    The finished wood-fired ceramics are carefully removed from the kiln. ​​
